Be active n healthy: Immobility, trauma, surgery and other illness, numerous inherited medical conditions like protein S, and C deficiency, previous blood clots and age can increase the risk of blood clots. The risk of a blood clot at age 20 is very low unless you have some of the more serious risk factors listed above. It is best to stay healthy and active and consider compression socks for long trips.
