A member asked:

Scabies re-infestation or permethrin side affects, how to tell?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Scabicide & dry: Scabies treatments often contain a high percentage of alcohol which can be very drying to the skin. All of the little bumps are remnants of where the mite lived in skin. Hypoallergenic soaps/lotions which are pH balanced will help the skin recover more quickly, and reduce the itching that can last up to two weeks after treatment. Evaluation with a skin scraping can determine treatment success.
