It depends: If tested too soon, the positive result may be false. When chlamydia is cured, it can take up to 3 weeks for the test to become negative. Or you may have been reinfected. Or the antibiotic failed. Additional treatment may be required. Return to the doctor or clinic where you were treated. If you have a sex partner who wasn't treated originally, make sure he or she is treated this time.
