Normal Stools: 11 wk old with "yellow stringy poop". Breast fed babies typically have runny, seedy, yellow stools whereas formula stools can be darker and green to brown colors. Strands of stringy mucous can also be seen. If your baby is comfortable, gaining weight, feeding well, has had normal baby exams then no action is needed. If baby has not had the 2 mos old well baby exam, do so now; next is at age 4 mos.

Yes: Breast milk stools are most often yellow and may be stringy in texture. Make sure he is wetting diapers and gaining weight appropriately on his growth curve. Blood in the stool is abnormal. All the best.
