Follicle size: Your doctor should have talked to you about what cycle days to check ovulation prediction kits. Assuming you are on clomid (clomiphene) cycle days 5-9, I would do the kits starting day 12 or 13 and do them for 5 days or so. Once you get a positive, then you are likely on the right dose of clomid (clomiphene) and your doc can check follicle number and size on US.
