Painful wrist.: Wrap the ice in a towel and also take over the counter pain medication sucn as tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil.

Second opinion: a wrist sprain that is still painful after six weeks needs a complete evaluation including special X-rays and an MRI. get a second opinion.
