Sedative : Xanax (alprazolam) is a sedative and should calm you. Some people enjoy the way it makes them feel calm and a bit out of it, and begin abusing it. It is an addictive medication and should only be used as directed. Thyroid medication does not make you high. It can cause altered thinking in an overdose, but does not interact with Xanax (alprazolam).
