Infection: A foul smell is a sign of infection or can be caused by something left in the vagina. You need to see a doctor as soon as possible to decrease the risk of complications.

Bacterial infection: This is one possibility. In my own practice, I sometimes prescribe Flagyl (antibiotic) to help with this. Check with your provider. Sometimes also, such symptoms can be normal after similar procedures.
