Avoid uv exposure: The best way to limit skin darkening is to avoid UV exposure including sun exposure and tanning beds. Consume a skin healthy diet including foods rich in vitamin A, C, E . Include dark green and yellow vegetables,citrus fruits,greens, tomatoes, spinach, carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, broccoli, avocados in your diet. Use sunscreen and avoid sun exposure between 10 am and 2pm.

Depends: On what you're treating.If you are having issues with darker patches of skin those are often due to overproduction of melanin in the epidermis layer of skin you can try a skin lightening topical cream to inhibit the major enzyme that helps produce melanin.If the issue is deeper in the skin in dermis only laser has been shown to help.Neither are absolute guarantee to stop making melanin completely
