why would a gi doctor prescribe buspar (buspirone) 5mg for abdomen issues?

Research: it works!: For some reason - the composition of the drug has qualities that 'relax' the stomach (muscle) and research revealed that it can be quite effective for that purpose. Here's the study. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/773518 At the dose intended for this purpose, it should not be risky but discuss it w/ your doctor before taking to be confident. Best!
