Hernia repair: It is unlikely that the hernia repair is the cause of spitting up blood. The back and stomach pains may be due to gastric bleeding. See a medical doctor immediately or call the surgeon that repaired the hernia to evaluate the spitting up of blood. This blood loss can become significant in a rapid fashion and lead to death.

It does not related: to hernia repair. You may have an stomach ulcer or gastritis type thing. See your doctor. May need endoscopy.
