Cervical nerve: There could be a pinched nerve in her cervical spine, especially if you also have pain which radiates down the left arm. A steroid dose pack often helps. An MRI of your cervical spine can aid with diagnosis. I think a massage is fine but the truth is no treatment is risk free. Talk to your doctor about your options.
