Fungal infection: By far the most common cause of this is an annoying but harmless fungal infection of the skin. Fungi like to live where it's warm and moist. Simple measures to correct this are changing underwear twice a day (since undies absorb sweat), drying thoroughly after washing, using baby powder, and over-the-counter anti-fungal agents (like those used for athlete's foot). If that fails, see dermatologist.
