Sounds like it: PCOS is not really a disease but rather a description of certain symptoms and findings. Typical symptoms are irregular periods, weight gain, abnormal hair growth and lack of ovulation. Signs can be abnormal lab work, cystic appearance of ovaries on a sonogram and others.
