Rule out Diabetes: The symptom of excessive thirst, especially in the context of having eaten something sweet, suggests diabetes. You can find out for sure by having a test that measures you blood glucose level and also a test called HgA1c that measures the average blood sugar over the last 120 days. If you had gestational diabetes when pregnant, this is especially likely. Early insulin resistance may also do this.

? Diabetes: The thirst could be normal but if concerned get a consult with your physician. One of the most common symptoms of Diabetes is excessive thirst. There are other conditions that cause increased thirst as well. Lab studies will help with the diagnosis. Good luck.
