Q-tips are a no-no!: To remove earwax at home, use an ear syringe with warm water. Q-tips and other objects can injure the ear canal and the ear drum as well. If it doesn't wash out with an ear syringe, see an ENT specialist who has instruments that easily remove wax under direct vision
