Inflamed vs allergy: Often after septoplasty and turbinate reduction more allergens are able to enter the nasal cavity thus creating symptoms not previously evident. Continue saline irrigations and consider nasal steroid spray for 3-4 weeks. If surgery was recent, this should subside, however may recur seasonally depending on underlying allergy.

Allergies: The mucous maybe thick because of your surgery. See your surgeon for possible treatment.

Depends when surgery: was performed- there can be drainage for weeks following a septoplasty /turbinectomy. I would continue saline rinse and followup with your physician.
