Might be Smell: Not taste that's affected. The tongue only tastes 4 things: Salt, sweet, sour and bitter. Many patients who complain that they can't taste in fact have reduced sense of smell. Many things cause this including nasal congestion or allergies, sinus infection, head injuries or in rare cases tumors. Visit your primary care, and if necessary they will refer for evaluation.
