See MD: Make sure he is drinking clear fluids. small amounts frequently--may try apple juice, pear juice, white grape juice. He must be urinating at least two to three times a day. He needs to see his physician to determine what is causing this problem--be it viral or otherwise. I do not know how old your grand child is, but the younger the child the more concerned I am about dehydration.

Fever and vomiting: If his symptoms just started. Put him in a tepid tub to help bring down the fever. Try not to give hem anything by mouth for an hour after vomiting, then start with small sips of Pedialyte frequently. If the vomiting stops today, avoid any milk products that contain fat as it is more likely to come back up. If he is doing well over the next 12 hrs, take it slowly on putting him back on reg diet.
