A member asked:

I've been taking 20mg of melatonin, which i've been told is the highest safe dose you can take, and it helps me a lot. but is it bad for your liver?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No hepatotoxicity: There is no reported hepatotoxicity due to melatonin. In fact, studies in rodents have showed a protective effect of melatonin against hepatotoxity.
