Cause?: It all hinges on the cause. You list "kidney failure" and that is a known cause if it's advanced. The treatment is renal replacement therapy if it's indicated on the basis of many factors, one of which can be "fluid around the heart".

Talk to cardiologist: Need to know how big is the fluid. In general small pericardial effusion is of no consequence. Next is determine possible cause(s) which can be multitude. All these require a careful evaluation by your cardiologist who can then decide if you need treatment or not.
