Under 140/90: Normal BP should be under 140/90. You will benefit from regular exercise and weight loss. 176lbs is with in normal if you are taller than 5ft 10in. When you check your BP make sure you are resting and the cuff size and location is correct.

120/70: In most cases, in the absence of other conditions such as kidney disease of diabetes, the goal is to reduce the blood pressure to less than 140/90. I chose 120/70 because there are natural fluctuations in the blood pressure throughout the day. A blood pressure of 158/106 is quite high, and If you have repeatedly had readings like this, see your doctor soon. if you have symptoms, go to the ER!
