Spotting: Could be mid cycle spotting, which sometimes happen for a variety of reasons. I would check a pregnancy test now and if negative again in two weeks. You might have some issues with ovulation. In addition this could be from cervical inflammation (infection). If you are sexually active and not using a condom, it may be of value to check for infection.

Spotting: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

A normal variant: You need o establish a menses diary to determine the pattern of your cle interval besides the symptoms during the flow. Be aware of pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease as both can change your cycle besides skipping it!! An App like P-Tracker is a good one. Then you may go to your Gyn with a ford of your menses pattern.
