Schedule appt asap: Your grand-daughter may have a fistula (a connection between the hole above her anus and the rectum) or an infection in the cleft (hole). She should be evaluated as soon as possible.

Cleft: If this is in the area of back just above the natal cleft or crack have your doctor take a look. I would be suspicious for spina bifida or possible pilonidal cyst
