What for?: Why do you take that much niacin. There are no beneficial effects from taking high doses of niacin. It you insist on taking the supplement, make sure you drink enough water so that your urine is colorless, odorless and watery.

Niacin: Long term use of niacin has a rare association with kidney stones; it appears to be dose related and age related. Mechanism is not clear; one report indicated uric acid stone was associated with niacin.
