A member asked:

Is it normal to feel tired more during the menopause. ive had alot of blood tests and the only concern is having a cholesterol of 6.9?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tired: You're pretty young (41) to be going through menopause. That should be checked. You listed "heavy painful periods" so I question if anemia may be contributing to your fatigue? You also mention insomnia. One of the most common causes of daytime drowsiness and fatigue is poor sleep. Finally your cholesterol of 6.9 (266 mg/dl) is probably too high, but one needs to know your HDL and LDL to be sure.
