A member asked:

Is the procedure transvaginal ultrasound for someone not sexual active for year painful? what should be done before the procedure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A Necessary Evil: If you have been comfortable with a routine pelvic exam, the probe probably shouldn't be too uncomfortable, keeping in mind that it is a rigid structure that will feel slightly cold. And the person doing the exam will hopefully guide you through it and be sensitive to your responses.A relaxed posture & calm, trusting mind will help,or as has been said in the past:"Close your eyes and think of England"
