Wide variation: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, there is wide variation in normal HCG levels during pregnancy and your results likely normal. Probably: HCG doubles usually every 48hours in the first 4weeks of pregnancy but doubling time increases as pregnancy advances. You are doubling every 1.6days or 38hours. Not sure of how far along you are but puts you in the range of 5 to 6weeks which still has your HCG at the normal level. For optimum pregnancy start antenatal care early. So see your OB as soon as possible. All the best
