Raised prolactin: Hello Rache R, commonest cause of raised prolactin is towards the end of pregnancy and during breast feeding.There is a long list of drugs that do it spironolactone being the most renowned and of course a benign pituitary (adenoma) call a "prolactinoma" will commonly do this and this is easily treated with bromocriptine, usually 1 x 2.5mg tab daily.Here is a link to a site that will give more thx

I am not aware: if It elevates the prolactin level. Some of the medications prescribed for anxiety,depression, psychosis can elevate prolactin level. Also Hypothyroidism and Pituitary tumors elevates prolactin level.
