Possible: The most important question to be asked is "do you have a hearing loss?" If there has been no change in your hearing, it is unlikely that you have an ear infection. The spot behind your ear also is probably not the source of your pain unless it is a painful lymph node. Referred pain to the ear is most commonly the result of pain originating in the teeth, jaw joint and throat. See an ENT doctor
