VAP: I agree w/ wikipedias explanation: http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/ventilator-associated_pneumonia a form of hospital aquired pneumonia affecting those on ventilators in settings like the icu.

VAP...: Ventilator-associated pneumonia is a pneumonia in a patient who is on a ventilator, usually for a few days or longer. A sputum culture is sent to the lab and antibiotics are used in treatment.
