A member asked:

Is there any connection between cats and humans developing leukemia? if the human is allergic to cats?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No connection: Being allergic to an animal and developing a malignancy are two different problems. Leukemia is probably viral in origin and the virus inducing the human leukemia is not known to be transmitted either to other humans or to animals. Similarly the virus inducing a feline leukemia should not be capable to transmission via contact.
