5 days: Metrogel should be used by inserting 1 applicator daily for 5 days. Unfortunately, bacterial vaginosis is sometimes difficult to eradicate or will frequently come back. If needed, the 5 day course can be repeated or 1 applicator can be used weekly in difficult to treat cases. Metrogel can have se of skin irritation, burning, or rarely a metallic taste or nausea, especially if taken with alcohol.
