What does a early pregnancy ultrasound tell you?

Dates: We use the early ultrasound to confirm that there is indeed a viable pregnancy in the uterus and the age of the fetus (based on measurements).

Good dates: An early ultrasound for pregnancy can give you the best dates for delivery especially if one is not sure of conception. It is also used to confirm a pregnancy. The physician will compare your dates to the dates found by the ultrasound to help determine the early viability but it cannot determine organ abnormalities or sex at this time. Good luck and congratulations.

Not sure how early,: But US tells you due date, number of babies, position of placenta, possibly chromosal abnormalities, and gives you a nice video or picture
