7yo with fever x2 days. fever of 101.9, gave tylenol (acetaminophen) and down to 101.7. headache, heart rate 126bpm, very restless, kind of shaky. wait it out?

Viral illnesses: Viral illnesses in children can be very uncomfortable. Fortunately, they are usually not serious. Symptoms from usually improve after a few days. Lethargy, decreased urine output, neck stiffness, uncontrolled vomiting and fevers above 104 are cause for concern and should be evaluated promptly.

No: His behavior is not normal and his temperature is not responding to Tylenol (acetaminophen). His heart rate is also rapid which may be from the fever or an infection. He may also be dehydrated. Have him seen.

Give tylenol (acetaminophen) now.: It seems the temperature is going higher fast which is causing headache and shakiness . You can check the temperature .Heart rate goes high with high fever. Give a dose of tyienol now and wait for temperature to come down a.lso talk to your doctor and get him examined ,treatment .
