Red spots on tongue: may be inflammed taste buds. Doubt infection since they are painless and no other symptoms. You may have also accidentally burned them with hot coffee or tea. Salt water gargles - 1/4 teaspoon of salt in 4 oz warm water - gargle and spit out might help. Good luck
