The dose of codeine: Tylenol (acetaminophen) #3 has 300mg of Acetaminophen with 30mg of codeine. Tylenol (acetaminophen) #4 has 300mg of Acetaminophen with 60mg of codeine. Therefore tylenol (acetaminophen) #4 has 30 mg more Codeine than tylenol (acetaminophen) #3.

Depends on weight: If all health factors normal, it would depend on his weight as tylenol (acetaminophen) #3 is one half grain of Codeine and may not be appropriate for a lesser weight teen. See clark's rule.
