Vaginal bleeding: Anovulatory bleeding can occur in any cycle for anyone. The most likely reason for bleeding as you described with a negative pregnancy test is bleeding that occurs in a cycle that you did not ovulate. Hence, the late start and increased cramping. The 'twitching' is two true, and unrelated.
