Otalgia: Otalgia is a term we use for an ear ache. If your hearing is within normal limits for your age, the most common cause of ear pain is referred from the dental apparatus. Conditions associated with chronic ear pain (assuming the ears are normal) are dental diseases, muscle spasm of the jaw muscles, rarely arthritis of the jaw joint, neck disease, throat disease, and laryngeal disease.
