Doubtful.: Growing pains usually stop by age 7. Knee pain in this age group is usually Osgood-Schlatter's syndrome. Ankle pain in this age group is usually Sever's apophysitis. Both conditions are stress fractures to growth cartilage. Both happen in highly active kids. Both heal with rest and stretching.
