Get evaluated.: If you are having brown vaginal discharge this could definitely be an infection but to confirm it you need to be seen and get tested. Make an appointment with your doctor in order to have a formal exam and get treated.

No: See your GYN for a pelvic examination and evaluation of the discharge ( bacterial culture and sensitivity ) .Although this sounds like old menstrual blood mixed with cervical and vaginal mucous, you must be examined.
