Not getting: the question fully. Progestins have androgenic effects. But then, high amounts of estrogen break down to androgens so, in PCOS, there's androgens (testosterone) and this rather than progesterone is androgenic norgestimate, desogestrel, gestodene are less androgenic synthetic progesterones used in more modern OCP's
