Facial pain: You're describing musculoskeletal pain of the temporalis muscle. This could be associated with a common headache, but more likely is associated with temporomandibular joint dysfunction. This can be caused by clenching the teeth, grinding the teeth during sleep. Other things to consider would be trigeminal neuralgia. See your doctor for evaluation. There are many treatments available.
