Depends: A good neurosurgeon experienced in pitutiary gland resection can have an 80-90% cure rate right out of the gate if the patient is well chosen. There is a recurrence rate of between 5-10% which is not necessarily dependent upon the skill of the surgeon. Most studies available show a clear positive correlation between the experience of the surgeon and the success rate in this procedure.
