Back pain: Yes. The nerve is irritated and inflamed. Back pain associated with left calf pain suggests nerve root irritation of the lumbar 5 or sacral 1 nerve root. Apply ice to the low back and take anti-inflammatory medication. If the pain persists then see a medical doctor to develop a treatment plan to reduce the back and calf pain.
