Normal: It is normal to have phlegm in the morning. Often, it is related to reflux that occurs at night. Try to avoid eating meals late at night, or eating right before you go to bed. Avoid foods that increase reflux risk, and if the symptoms persist you can try trials of acid reducing medication. If they worsen, see and ENT for evaluation.
