Implanon/nexplanon: The major side effect of progesterone only contraception is abnormal bleeding, be it bleeding every day or no bleeding at all. The bleeding you describe is a normal consequence of this method. Your doctor my be able to prescribe other meds, like estrogen to lesses the duration and amount, but this can be temporary relief only and my not take care of it completely.
