A member asked:

Pediatric glucose tolerance test, how is this done?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Easy test: For a glucose tolerance test there will first be a blood draw for baseline glucose. Some doctors include insulin levels and urine test as well. Then your child will drink a concentrated solution of sugar water and have labs drawn hourly for 3 (sometimes 5) hours. The results will show whether blood sugar follows the expected pattern.
