A member asked:

Nexplanon and contraceptive pill, is it okay to take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes but why?: Nexplanon is a progestin which is a highly effective contraceptive method. Occasionally a short course of contraceptive pills has helped some women who had no contraindications, deal with "irregular spotting or bleeding" which can be a side effect of Nexplanon. Unfortunately, this combination can increase the risks of deep vein thrombosis , thrombophlebitis and pulmonary thromboembolism....
