NO: This child should be seen by doctor in the next day. The illness that comes to mind and rarely at this age is roseola. It is usually a longer time for the fever of 3 days. the rash comes out after the fever goes down. The child should be seen to make sure there is nothing else is going on. Probably will be irritable and mildly ill for several more days.

Maybe: There are many viral illnesses that start out with fever & end with a rash, but others rash for the duration of several days of fever. It is hart to be sure what is going on without a visit. Many times the character of the rash helps label the process & determine if any additional steps are needed.
